PHP in Java: Quercus

Quercus

Interesting, a GPL Java native implementation of PHP 5.x. Since I generally use PHP for web related things this seems a very cool way to combine both environments. It seems to allow two way integration which likely would help people who have a core of Java code but would rather use something more productive for the front end.

It appears that Quercus does not require Resin and can run on any appserver.

One nice side effect is that it can be used to run php on Google's appEngine.

I want to present several images on my website. A PHP/JAVA/CSS script would do. A user should be able to browse through pictures in a similar way the PicLens add-on of Firefox works.
